What is CSR

CSR or CR as it is now more often referred to, is now firmly on the business agenda for a large and growing number of companies.

The UK Government sees CSR as the business contribution to the sustainable development goals. Essentially it is about how businesses, both large and small, take account of their economic, social and environmental impacts in the way they operate - maximising the benefits and minimising the downsides.

Specifically, CSR can be seen as the voluntary actions that businesses can take, over and above compliance with minimum legal requirements, to address both their own competitive interests and the interests of wider society.
